About Me
As I view the fading sunset, followed by the afterglow, I realize that it is in our daily living, through the lives that we touch, that we are creating the afterglow that we will leave behind us. As long as there is one life on this earth in whom we have made a positive difference, our afterglow will remain. It is at that moment that the full impact of the day’s events become clear to me. When my life’s sun sets and I see our Lord face-to-face, I will view, for the first time, that sunrise in glory. No sad songs, only songs of victory!

I am a full time nature photographer, particularly interested in capturing nature in the most intimate and dramatic settings of most of the American national parks. My passion and love is taking nature photographs in Montana, which has an abundance of natural resources. Most of my free time I spend capturing the beauty of Glacier National Park, less than an hour from my home. Since 2004 I have hiked most of the trails in Glacier National Park, some of them multiple times. Many times I have been asked which hike or place in the park is my favorite and why. Deep in my heart there is not much difference between places in the park; I love them all the same!
My Portfolio
Life lived out, no matter how many years on this earth is a mere blink of the eye compared to eternity. During the course of that lifetime many changes take place. Sometimes the sun is completely obscured by the storm clouds of life; however, no matter how hard the storms may rage, or how dark the world may become around us, the sun is still shining. It is only temporarily hidden from our view. How wonderful! It always shines again!

My Resume
I take photographs because they capture a moment that is gone forever, impossible to reproduce. I do all my artwork 100 percent myself, from taking the photographs, digitally processing it, print on desired media, frame it and most of the time install on premises. Just like in the good old days, a true art by the artist. Welcome to my studio world…
My specialty, large scale photographs on canvas are permanently displayed in places like: Kalispell City Hall, Northwest Healthcare KRMC and Bass Center, Glacier International Airport (Centennial Exhibit), Immanuel Lutheran Communities in Kalispell, Red Lion Hotel in Kalispell and other. Here are few photographs from places with my artwork permanently on display.
My Books
I am author, publisher and distributor of a unique series of photographic books featuring the profound beauty of the wide-open spaces of the West, all printed in USA. (Titles "Glacier Classics" and "Glacier Park Wide" were official centennial retail products during Glacier National Park's 100th anniversary.) Book titles out of print are available below in a slideshow format for review. Some other titles which are still in distribution, upcoming new books and some still in project stage are password protected.

I have been working with Bret for over four years bringing small groups to explore and photograph Glacier National Park. Bret’s intimate knowledge of the park and ability to explore wildlife is incomparable. His photographic guidance has allowed me (and the groups) to capture some of our most memorable shots.

Bret Bouda is able to use his camera lenses to capture the amazing beauty of the natural world around him. My wife, Suzi, and I have had the privilege of seeing Bret in action. He is an incredible photographer and we can’t wait to see what his next adventure will bring.

Hello, Bret… and thank you so much for the BEAUTIFUL book of colored and panoramic photos of Glacier Park. Your fantastic photos brought back great memories of all the scenic trails I hiked, and mountains I climbed during the summers I spent as a bus driver...There is no other place like Glacier Park.... Thank you so much again, Bret.......God's Blessings.

Carolyn and I have been in Houston over the winter and are planning to return to Montana about June 1st. We were totally surprised and very very happy to receive your wonderful book "The Era of the Chalets" which was forwarded to us here. While we always have had great admiration for your work (as clearly demonstrated on our walls in Montana) this book has in our minds elevated you as a true artist to even greater heights! The photography in this book is out of this world and the book is a true treasure.

Award Winning Author
I’ve had your book for a couple of weeks, so it’s time to write and tell you what I think of it. (Drum roll.) It’s magnificent. I don’t think I have ever described any book that way before, but yours is. Magnificent. It does justice to the Park. You’ve captured the light falling across green glacial moraines and painted the chiaroscuro of rock formations and reflections off water, captured the vastness of panoramic landscapes that sweep across two wide pages and contrast with the exquisite detail of flowers in bloom, close-ups of rock textures, and waterfalls – the book takes me on a miraculous journey.
